The Shadowlands was a concept I had for a game before I even knew how to make games.
Regardless, the concept behind The Shadowlands is one I'd like to eventually use for a real game. The farther you progress in the game, the more glitchy it becomes, until the final level, where it is ultimately unplayable (though, not unbeatable). I also made a simple drone/noise soundtrack for the game, that gets more and more chaotic as the game breaks down.
I would consider it to be an "art game" since the unusual game mechanics take priority over plot & playability. Considering this was created before I was actually supposed to learn how to create Flash games, the concept is short and the environmental changes are rapid. You can beat the entire thing in just over two minutes if you know what you're doing (but you don't).

The game was MacGyver'd together in Adobe Flash using ActionScript 2 and abusing the stage size limitations. The graphics were made in Photoshop and the soundtrack was composed in Abelton Live.
